8K, I survived!

I lived to tell about the 8K!

Honestly, I can't remember being that nervous! Before the race I like to find someone that I feel is my fitness level and try to beat them. It's crazy I know, but it helps me. I couldn't find anyone on Monday! Everyone seemed like such a elite runner. They were all skinny, with their fancy running gear and did more for warm-ups than I probably do for a whole week! I was tired just watching them warm-up.

Here is what I learned during the 8k.

1. I can actually run 5 miles!
2. Don't drink the water from the cup while you are running! It just goes up your nose! Take a few seconds and stop.
3. Not everyone that looks like an elite runner is one, but not everyone that doesn't look like an elite runner, isn't one.
4. you can wear your skimpy running gear, skirts, sweats and costumes to run. No dress code!
5. The day of the race you still feel pretty good from the accomplishment of your goal, the day after = OUCH!
6. Runners don't care what shape or fitness level you are in. They don't look down on you and they don't judge you. Even the best are just so proud of you for what you did, that they cheer you on. It is amazing!

So, I ran the 8K, not fast, but I wasn't last and I finished in under an hour (which were my two goals). Now where in the heck do I go from here?

It's been awhile

Sorry for the length between posts. I had a rough week last week. I was sick two days so I didn't run and then the heat and humidity were so crazy, I didn't run another two days!

I ran last saturday, but since I hadn't ran for 4 days, I only did 3 miles because I wanted to feel my legs for the 8K race on Monday.
